MOTHER UNDER THE INFLUENCE CRASHES INTO SCHOOL

On Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 09:45 am, Coalinga Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Adams
Street (Cheney Kindergarten) on the report of a drunk driver who was almost involved in a traffic accident
driving a red four door sedan. Officers arrived on scene and located the red four door Saturn parked on a
concrete parking stop and the front of the vehicle had collided against the south side of the school
building.
The female driver was later identified as 34 year old Coalinga resident, Crystal Mansfield was in the
driver’s seat with a young female juvenile standing in the back seat. Officer Deleon contacted Mansfield
and observed objective symptoms of her operating the motor vehicle under the influence of drug/alcohol.
Mansfield was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and child
endangerment. The young juvenile who was in the vehicle at the time was not injured.
Fresno County Child Protective Services was contacted and Mansfield’s children were released to their
father.
Mansfield was transported to the Coalinga Police Department and later transported to the Fresno County
Jail for final booking. The suspect involved in this case is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
